The Flemmer Family

Welcome to the South African Flemmer family site

 

The Flemmer family arrived in South Africa on 1 February 1853. They came from Denmark and settled in Cradock. Steve Herbert and Fay Lea worked for more than ten years (and continue to) researching the family history. The culmination of their efforts was the publication of  "The Story of the South African Flemmers". 

 

Along the way papers on ancestors of the South African branch and other branches of the family were published, in conjunction with the family gatherings. This site, with the links provided, gives a good deal of information about the family. More will be added as it comes to hand. Be sure to click on the little white arrows on the slideshows to see pics of the family. Apologies for some bad quality pics, these must have been downsized to email.
